SLMS talk to Bron Ivy about her upcoming show “Magic and Kindness”
Tell Us About Your Show Bron
I’ve wanted to expand on my act from the Family Entertainer of the Year competition, keeping the ethos of respect towards the audience, sharing the power of kindness though beautiful, sophisticated magic. The final pieces of the puzzle fell into place over the Easter period, and I knew I wanted to get it out into the world.
What has the journey been like to get where you are in magic today?
It’s been wild – I only started learning magic 10 years ago, when I saw an American magician called Jared Hall perform at a creative ministries festival. I took a break in 2020/2021 after my daughter was born, then returned to magic with a renewed passion performing at kids parties in 2022. I then became a member of the Magic Circle and Associate Member of the Inner Magic Circle in 2023, went full time with magic in 2025, and this year won Family Entertainer of the Year at the world’s largest magic convention.
Tell us about where you’d like to see yourself magically in 5 years time!
I never try and predict where I want to be because often life sends me a startling new direction that I couldn’t have expected. Right now, I’m hoping that in 5 years time I’ll have a stage show that I can take around local theatres. I’m also hoping to enter a couple more competitions, I love the thrill of a high stakes performance!
